> After Houthi advances and calls from southern Yemenis for more power, Yemen’s UN-recognised government reshuffled its political and military leadership in an effort to recover lost territory and lift the siege of Taiz. A government counteroffensive has failed, and President Rashad al-Alimi dismissed several officials, handing the task of lifting the siege and coordinating forces to Maj Gen Rashad al-Yousfi.
