# EU chief criticises Spain’s migrant plan after Ceuta crisis meeting

> The EU commissioner for migration has criticised Spain’s proposal to regularise undocumented migrants, calling it a poor signal for Europe. His comments followed an emergency meeting focused on ending divisions over the Ceuta crisis. Magnus Brunner said the EU could not currently identify a direct connection between the events in Ceuta and Spain’s regularisation policy. Even so, he said the measure was definitely not a good signal for the rest of Europe.
