> Steve Hilton, a former senior adviser to UK Prime Minister David Cameron, lost the California governor’s race to Democrat Xavier Becerra. Endorsed by President Donald Trump, Hilton faced long odds in the liberal state, and his defeat was projected minutes after polls closed. Becerra will be the state’s first Latino governor in more than 150 years, succeeding term-limited Gavin Newsom.
