> Tens of millions voted in Tuesday’s US midterms, with voting proceeding relatively smoothly nationwide. Machines in parts of Westchester county, New York, could not scan some ballots, so emergency ballots were provided. Other equipment or procedural problems were reported in Kansas, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee and several other states.
