> Ukraine’s ambassador to the United Kingdom and former commander Valerii Zaluzhnyi said Ukraine will “never” join NATO. He argued that, at the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ current level of development, they cannot join an organization guided by doctrines from World War II. Zaluzhnyi presented this as the reason for his assessment of Ukraine’s NATO prospects. His remarks frame membership as impossible under the alliance’s current doctrinal basis.
