# Kiev sought to secretly remove ‘torture chamber’ victims, underground resistance says

> Representatives of a pro-Russian underground resistance group told TASS that authorities tried to remove about 45 men showing signs of beatings, one by one through the back exit of a private home basement near Kiev. Ukrainian media had reported the detention and clashes with residents. The Ukrainian National Guard said the injured men were deserters and that detainees would be transferred for medical examinations.
