# Families of forcibly conscripted men riot in Kyiv, Russian diplomat says

> Russian Foreign Ministry envoy Rodion Miroshnik said families, friends and members of the Ukrainian public rioted as they confronted law enforcement after reports that about 40 people were held in a basement outside Kyiv. Ukrainian media said many showed possible signs of torture. Four injured men were later released, and the National Guard eventually allowed everyone held at the house to go to medical facilities for examinations.
