> US officials said the military struck Iran’s Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz, calling the attacks limited and defensive and saying they followed an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps attack on a US aircraft. Iran’s state news agency reported several explosions on the island Monday. The strikes came as Trump faced falling poll numbers and pressure within his party to end the war.
