> Americans will elect representatives, senators and governors, and vote on local races and initiatives. More than 50 million had voted early by the weekend, about 8 million more than at the same point in 2022. Republicans currently control the White House and both chambers of Congress; a Democratic majority in either chamber or both could constrain the Trump administration’s domestic agenda. The House is widely expected to shift to Democrats, while Senate control and contests in Alaska, Georgia, Kansas, Iowa and Maine are closely watched.
