# New Pentagon contracts won’t help Ukraine with Patriots soon, expert says

> Nikolay Novik, an expert at the Higher School of Economics, says the Pentagon’s new contracts will not help Ukraine obtain more Patriot systems in the coming months. He says the actual increase in output is expected only in 2027–2028. The contracts therefore will not produce an immediate increase in support for Ukraine.
