> Demonstrations over rising living costs and deteriorating school conditions took place across France for a third straight weekend. In Paris, riot police fired tear gas and small fires broke out, while similar scenes were reported in Bordeaux, Toulouse and Marseille. The protests were generally less violent than the unrest on October 17.
