> Bolivia has declared a nationwide state of emergency to mobilise resources against El Niño’s effects. President Rodrigo Paz’s decree also calls for more rescue teams in areas hit hard by drought and floods. Drought affects 78,000 families in six departments and has caused the loss of more than 75,000 cattle; El Niño is expected to peak in late 2026.
