# Oil tanker carrying 27 Indians attacked with limpet mines in Strait of Hormuz

> The Panama-flagged Louise 1, carrying 27 Indian seafarers, was struck by limpet mines near Oman, setting its engine room on fire. The blaze was extinguished, the crew were safe and there was no environmental impact, UKMTO said. The attackers were not identified. It is the first known successful use of limpet mines against a vessel in the waterway since the US-Iran war began in February.
