> Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ruslan Varankov said Latvia had closed a border crossing as part of an election campaign. He noted that drivers who had already reached the border were advised to turn back. The statement linked the border measure directly to the electoral campaign. It did not describe any other action beyond the crossing’s closure and the recommendation to drivers.
