> The New World Screwworm infestation has reached a third US state, Arizona, after spreading in New Mexico and Texas. Since the flies re-entered the country in June, 74 animal cases have been identified. This week, four dogs and a cat were attacked. The larvae hatch in wounds and moist openings, feeding on living flesh and causing severe, sometimes fatal injuries.
