# European Commission has received €8 billion from frozen Russian assets since 2024, Euroclear says

> The European Commission has received about €8 billion since 2024 from reinvestment income on frozen Russian sovereign assets held at Euroclear, the depository said. The latest €1.4 billion tranche was transferred in August. Euroclear said the Commission received a significant portion, but not the full sum, because Belgium taxes the earnings.
