> Israelis are due to vote Tuesday in the first parliamentary election since the Hamas-led attack of October 7, 2023. Netanyahu is seeking another term against his main challenger, centrist Yashar leader and former military chief Gadi Eisenkot. Polls suggest neither camp has a clear route to the 61 seats needed to govern, and a change of leader may not bring a fundamental shift in regional or Palestinian policy.
