> A car bombing in Colombia wounded at least 11 people just days before the presidential election. President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella has pledged to pursue a harsh crackdown on rebel groups and criminal organisations. The attack comes as election security is under scrutiny. His stated approach places armed rebels and criminal organisations at the centre of his security agenda. The incident adds to concerns surrounding the election period.
