# Norwegian PM says maintaining contact with Russian leadership is imperative

> Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store said the United States should not be the only country with a communication channel to Russia’s leadership. He said Norway and Finland, as neighbors, have a responsibility to pursue their own interests. Store and Finnish President Alexander Stubb earlier spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin and agreed to continue direct phone contacts.
