> Donald Trump is urging Israel to accept an agreement with Hamas after announcing that the group had agreed to disarm, a step described as a possible breakthrough in the US-brokered Gaza peace plan. Trump says Israel is “very happy” with the deal, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not publicly endorsed it. Israeli sources say Israeli forces will not withdraw without genuine disarmament. Hamas, however, maintains that Israel must withdraw first before it gives up its weapons.
