> Ahead of Israel’s Oct. 27 national election, President Donald Trump endorsed Benjamin Netanyahu’s bid for another term. The vote is widely seen as a referendum on whether Netanyahu should continue pursuing his war aims, including disarming Hamas and Hezbollah and countering Iran’s nuclear threat. Polls indicate neither his bloc nor the opposition led by Gadi Eisenkot has a clear route to the 61 seats needed to form a government.
