> Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won a fourth term as Brazil’s president, beating far-right candidate Flávio Bolsonaro with 51.79% of the vote. Lula became the first candidate to win a runoff after losing the first round, while Bolsonaro refused to concede. The result breaks with a regional trend following the growth of a radical populist movement.
