> Left-wing politician Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has won a fourth term as Brazil’s president. Born into poverty, he worked as a metalworker, became a trade union activist and founded the Workers’ Party. His presidencies expanded social programmes and raised Brazil’s international profile. He was also jailed in a corruption case. Uniting a divided country will be a challenge.
