> Polling ahead of Israel’s Oct. 27 election projects that National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s Otzma Yehudit Party could win seven to ten Knesset seats, making a future Netanyahu government potentially dependent on his support. His rise reflects gains by populist right-wing parties in Europe and the West. Supporter Yishai Fleisher praised his law-and-order agenda, while former ambassador Danny Ayalon said Ben-Gvir’s rhetoric damaged Israel’s diplomatic standing.
