> California leaders have opposed the Trump administration’s effort to curb alleged noncitizen voting. Federal prosecutors asked state election officials to verify about 20,000 ballots linked to suspected noncitizens within 48 hours, prompting concerns that citizens could be disenfranchised. State officials say many people on the list were born in the US, and an appeals court is set to hear the dispute.
