> Iran says seven oil tankers were damaged in the Strait of Hormuz, including four that caught fire and three disabled after hitting mines; the claims could not be independently verified. The IRGC warned that conflict could extend to US bases in the region if Washington helps vessels transit other parts of the strait. The US rejected Iran’s claims and accused it of trying to raise oil prices.
