# Russia-China-US summit could link Ukraine settlement to a new world order, expert says

Petro, a political science professor at the University of Rhode Island, told TASS that a meeting of Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping and Donald Trump could signal an effort to place resolution of the Ukraine conflict within the formation of a new world order. He said it was too early to judge whether diplomatic efforts were accelerating. Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov previously said all sides were interested in arranging the meeting on the sidelines of the APEC summit.
