# Booking.com investigated by EU over fake listings and scams

> The European Commission is investigating whether Booking.com failed to adequately protect users from fake listings, phishing scams and reservation hijacks, potentially breaching the Digital Services Act. A commission official called its anti-fraud approach “absolutely substandard”; violations could bring a fine of up to 6% of global annual turnover. Booking.com said it is engaging with the commission.
