> French President Emmanuel Macron said people would not be allowed to “cause chaos” during protests over the cost of living. He criticised foreign leaders for exploiting the disorder for political purposes and said he would meet intelligence services ahead of Saturday’s planned demonstrations. Riots and looting followed protests across France, with at least 2,500 arrests.
