# Russia seeks indefinite extension of visa-free travel with China, deputy foreign minister says

> Russia wants to establish a permanent visa-free travel mechanism with China, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said. The two countries are currently extending reciprocal visa-free entry annually and have extended it through the end of 2027. Chinese Ambassador Zhang Hanhui said Chinese tourist visits to Russia rose nearly 50% in the first quarter of 2026.
