> The New York Times reports that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner plan to meet Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg on October 21 and seek the release of a long-held American. The report does not name the person; the only American the State Department lists as wrongfully detained in Russia is Stephen Hubbard, sentenced to six years and 10 months on mercenary charges after fighting for Ukrainian forces.
