> European Parliament Vice President Pina Picierno announced a hunger strike to draw international attention to Russian-controlled Oleshky in Ukraine’s Kherson region. She urged humanitarian groups and governments to press for an immediate truce, aid deliveries and safe evacuation for civilians wishing to leave. Residents have endured months without electricity, food or adequate medical care as shelling continues, while most roads out are mined.
