# Marseille braces for further unrest after protests descend into ‘apocalyptic’ disorder

> Marseille suffered some of France’s worst violence on Saturday as protests gave way to widespread disorder. Business leaders say more than 500 premises were damaged, most looted; 118 officers were injured and 101 people arrested. Demonstrations were banned for eight hours, and a minors’ overnight curfew will begin in parts of the city on Tuesday.
