> Violent riots and looting followed mass protests in France over the weekend, with damage reported in Paris, Limoges and other cities. About 855 people were arrested in Paris and 2,400 across the country. Hundreds of thousands joined largely peaceful marches, while protests also took place in Spain, Portugal and Italy. The unrest reflects deeper public anger over everyday issues and threatens to engulf Emmanuel Macron’s government.
