> Two vessels were reportedly hit by naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz this week. UKMTO said at least 12 ships were attacked in the week ending October 16, but many vessels did not report incidents, making the true number difficult to verify. The US says it and regional partners control the strait, while Iran accuses Washington of exaggerating figures; the two sides offer conflicting accounts.
