> US President Donald Trump has suspended a broad package of Russia sanctions that he signed into law last month, saying the pause serves the national interest. His executive order came two days before the law’s sanctions deadline and about a week after the US announced a deal to buy Russian diesel. The law targeted Russian officials, banks and energy tankers, and called for tariffs of up to 100 percent on major importers of Russian oil or gas.
