> Days after federal forces retook the Ethiopian city of Mekele, daily life is gradually resuming, with shops reopening and banks back in operation. Shortages, higher prices and months of unpaid salaries remain a strain, while limited cash makes it hard for pensioners and others to withdraw money. Residents say they want lasting peace, economic recovery and restored essential services, hoping the TPLF leadership’s departure will bring stability and help families rebuild.
