> Germany and France have agreed on a pact to protect Europe’s automotive industry, cut CO2 emissions and support the development and production of electric cars in Europe. It includes incentives for investment, research and manufacturing. European carmakers have struggled to compete with Chinese rivals in the EV market. Lower Saxony Premier Olaf Lies called the agreement a strong signal for the industry and its jobs.
