> French lawyers and rights groups say police weapons used at school protests have left several teenagers with severe injuries, while an unprecedented number of children have been detained. The interior minister said police are investigating 36 allegations of officer violence, including claims that four children were badly maimed by explosive weapons. The protests are in their fourth week, with students demanding replacement teachers and repairs to deteriorating schools.
