# Israeli firm sent spyware through online ads, researchers say

> A joint investigation by Citizen Lab and Confiant says Israeli ad tech firm Discover-Tech worked with spyware companies to infect devices, including at least 45 at Al Jazeera, through targeted ads. Researchers say it is the first technical evidence of a zero-click attack delivered this way. Google and Beeswax removed Discover-Tech from their platforms, and IAB Europe suspended it from its approved-vendor list.
