# Mexico orders Meta, TikTok and X to strengthen protections for minors

> Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum signed a decree requiring digital platforms to limit minors’ exposure to violent, harassing and sexually abusive content by design, and promptly remove risky material from minors’ profiles. Platforms have one month to comply. Sheinbaum said the government would back penalties in legislation if progress is not made.
