> Turkish authorities raided Halk TV’s Istanbul offices, stopped its broadcasts and appointed a government trustee to run the company during a corruption investigation. Prosecutors said 17 detention warrants were issued and 11 people were taken into custody. Owner Cafer Mahiroglu rejected the allegations, while opposition figures and press freedom groups condemned the takeover.
